‘The Teaching School is offering a range of really exciting professional development opportunities for so many people’

Pam Butterfield – NCTL

Woodfield TSA has been established as a National College Teaching School for three years. Our work is focused on ‘Exploring New Educational Landscapes’ leading the way to success through quality and research.

We recruit trainee teachers, who are based at schools in our alliance. In 2015, we recruited 14 trainee teacher that are now receiving their training in our Alliance schools.

We have a comprehensive portfolio of professional training courses suitable for all professionals from teaching assistants to senior leaders. We run more than 40 courses into our dedicated training centre of WoodfieldTSA, based in Woodfield School.

We support other schools, to improve the learning and achievement of their pupils by deploying Specialist Leaders in Education and other highly skilled colleagues who are able to provide quality, tailor made support.

Since September 2015 we are also the Appropriate Body responsible for training, monitoring, supporting and assessing the progress of Newly Qualified Teachers. We have the most comprehensive Primary NQT training programme running in London this year with 30 courses.

Research into effective practice and Quality Assurance underpin our development. From 2014 till 2016, we have participated into an Erasmus+ project “Equal Educational Opportunities for Students with Learning Difficulties”.

Alongside our Outstanding and Teaching School status, we meet the Institute of Education’s professional development Gold quality mark, its highest level.
