We have set up a pilot Discovery Web which is a team of five people working together to do some research. The first web comprises of three pupils and two adults. They have agreed that every member of the web has equal status â so that the adults donât slip into âteacherâ roles but act as components of the team.
Discovery Webs do research at a simplified level. They find things out, they use their skills or learn new ones to get it done, and once answers or relevant information has been discovered they let others know [using inclusive language or symbols].
Potential research questions ranged from ‘Healthy Eating’ to ‘Who decides our timetable’ in the end the agreed question was âWho are the bulliesâ.
