We are very pleased to be presenting at the âSchool-led Research Development, A joint IPDA / TEANâ event on Tuesday 10th June, 2014 at University of Cumbria, London. Andrew Thorpe-Anderson and Anastasia Ioakeimidou will be presenting with a focus on the difficulties that the teaching schools may face in conducting research in their schools.
Schools in England are taking an increasing role in the training of teachers, both of beginning and experienced staff. Research and development opportunities for teachers, where the ultimate goal should be to empower professionals with evidence, are significant. How can research capacity be built in schools? How can research practice be embedded as part of general practice? How does it benefit learning in school? In what ways can strong partnerships between schools and HEI promote and enhance opportunities for school-led research?
This conference will hopefully give us the answers around what Research and Development is and how schools can built strong partnerships between them and HEI.
