Woodfield School became a Teaching School in March 2013. During the previous year we had operated as a Training and Consultancy Centre. Our vision since the launch has been to launch the Teaching School with a focus on SEND and Inclusion.
Our inclusive ethos and moral purpose stems from our experience and our outstanding practice as an MLD / SLD special school. We have built our partnerships with this in mind. The strategic work is carried out in partnership with other local special schools and PRUs. Some strategic partners also have SEN provision in a mainstream setting (one for the Autistic spectrum condition; one for Speech, language and communication needs; and one which has a unit for pupils with moderate learning difficulties – a KS4 group who transfer there from Woodfield School at the end of year nine). Our growth will continue to focus on these areas.
Alongside those mentioned above we are fortunate to have a group of other partners, comprising a breadth of organisations ranging from mainstream school through to universities. Generally they are based in north London but we are gradually reaching out beyond our own locality to extend the nature of our collaborative work. We also hope to invite at least one charity to join this as we continue to grow. Please follow the links to find out more about who we work with and support.
